A common refrain is that March is in like a lion and out like a lamb, and so goes this blog. We are excited to bring you a March full of personal stories, lifestyle tips and advocacy protocols that will let your March start of like a lion (and perhaps even end like a lion in the world of advocacy and feeling secure in your child’s plan).
In this week’s blogging, we will see many strong and powerful people who have stood up and self-advocated for themselves and others. We will also discuss Fragile X syndrome for Fragile X syndrome awareness day. The blog will also begin to discuss autoimmunity and the challenges presented to the autoimmune student as they go through school and in particular in college. This will begin a month-long series where we tackle how to be a student with an autoimmune disorder. As a student with systemic lupus, I know how invisible illness can dramatically effect educational outcomes and will provide tips on how to best accomplish your educational goals.
In closing remember, “A truly strong person does not need the approval of others any more than a lion needs the approval of sheep.” (Vernon Howard)
As we embark on Marchת remember to be a lion in the your own advocacy, the advocacy of your child and in your relentless pursuit of happiness, justice and fairness.
